thanks to alita for writing up an awesome article! we also had a radio interview this morning on ICRT 100.7 which was really cool. thanks to all those who tuned in!! i probably sounded really stupid over the air…but oh well. we have a show in taichung tonight which we’re pretty excited for!! also, thanks to everyone who came to see us play at the wall last night!! it was first time playing in a bigger venue and it was quite an experience…we were most excited about the fog machine.

annie started a new blog in celebration of her new iphone. she updates at least once a day with either a picture or a sound. it’s pretty neat. you should all visit it at least once a day!

first of all, congrats to my cousin ben and anita on their wedding! it was too bad that annie and i couldn’t attend their wedding in newport beach, but i heard it was really awesome. anyway, they are in thailand for their honeymoon but they had an 18hr layover in taipei…which meant we got to show them what taipei had to offer in a very short amount of time.
took them to eat at 士林 where they basically ate every night market food you could ever want

this was kinda cute

a picture we took to email to our family back at home…you know, just to let them know we were all alive and well

took them to cks

a picture in front of the most cultural display in taiwan

congrats again man!
i had a few days off this week before my new semester started, so i went to visit annie at her work…i mean, eat at yoshinoya, which happened to be by her work ^^

took out the 50mm, which i very rarely do

at the park

and lastly, had a very awesome show at vicious circle, despite numerous sound problems

march is going to be a pretty busy month for us. we have a show at the wall on thursday (3/11), then a radio interview on ICRT the next day, followed by a show in taichung (台中). we’re also having a small interview with taipei times newspaper tomorrow, which is pretty damned cool.

it’s tradition here that a week after new years, you write all your wishes on a giant lantern and blast them into the sky. where they end up, i don’t know, but it was seriously a really cool experience. on with the pictures…
buying our train tickets

train ridas

transferring

the weather was pretty nice

packed ass train

arrival

the little orange things are the lanterns

super loud fireworks

lots of lanterns — it was really hard to capture how impressive the sight was

up close (these are just random people)

some people had success

some people had failure (police man stomping out the fire..kinda sad, but kinda funny at the same time!)

we always wondered where these things end up after their fires burn out…well, turns out a lot of them end up here (30 second exposure…lantern graveyard)

it was time to make our own

annie’s side

my side

oh yeah!

releasing of their lantern

success!

our turn

lift off

success!

walking through the extremely smokey streets back to the train

the train back was equally as crowded but we somehow managed to get seats. snapped this picture of a kid who was at my feet. pretty cute.

happy march!!!

i really have to stay on top of these excitement posts, especially with video games because in this case, i’m already done with this one. oh ya, and i’m already done with dante’s inferno.

regardless, i was quite excited when capcom announced the expansion packs for resident evil 5. this one is called “lost in nightmares” and there will be another expansion in a couple weeks. i believe my second excitement post was when RE5 originally came out. anyway, what can i say? dan and i finished the co-op campaign in a little over an hour. plus, it came with new characters to play for mercenaries. definitely worth the $4.99. apparently there is an easter egg to enable the old school cameras for the campaign…just like how it was for the first three games. the mansion is almost identical to the one in the original resident evil. actually, i think this 1 hour campaign was probably scarier than the whole original campaign in RE5. something about being constrained in a dark mansion with limited space to run around in. SO STRESSFUL.
