happy 24th!

we basically partied until around 4am…and by that time, my camera batteries were completely drained so everything that happened after that is sort of a blur (hah!) but all i know is that we ate some more 豆漿, stumbled back into our hostel around 5:30am, took a shower, got into a taxi and went to the airport by 6am.  i once swore that i would never drink heavily before flying internationaly but here i was again -_-  it wasn’t that bad, i basically remember waking up in tokyo feeling like hell but after a while felt a little better :)   this is the only picture we have going home:

HAH…he had to stand up on that little platform while they searched him.  oh james.

well that’s it!  there has got to be over 1000+ pictures we took from the trip so i’m sure there are some that i’ve missed. but all in all, i think this post should give you guys a better insight as to what we actually did over there (as opposed to the 324890 albums on facebook)!!  i must say that it’s nice to be back at home but in all honesty, our hearts are still in taiwan.  i couldn’t have asked for a better trip.  thanks to angela, wes and francesca…our beloved EAP lovers who will forever be the coolest people on the planet.  also, thanks to annie, wes and james because some of the pictures posted up here were theirs : )  and to taiwan — we may be gone now…BUT WE’LL BE BACK…relatively soon, i might add ;)

中文課完了… :*(

Posted by jonhom. No Comments

as many of you know (or don’t know), i’ve been taking chinese classes at el camino for the past semester.  not only was it fun to just learn more chinese but i love making new friends in the process : )

last night was our last class and instead of having class, we convinced our teacher to have class at sea empress!  full banquet style meal w/ beer and sake for less than $20/person…can’t complain!!

teacher at the head of the table w/ some 同學們

it seems that whenever i take a chinese class in the US, i meet someone who speaks chinese fluently which helps so much with my conversation :D

in irvine, i had vivian and louis

this is yuko

w/ yuko, roxanne, diana and justin

i’m sad class is over : (

monthly ketchup

Posted by jonhom. 1 Comment

has it really been almost a month since i last updated this thing?  let’s see, november went by super fast…a lot faster than i thought it would.  it always seems the months/weeks leading up to when i go back to taiwan go super slow….well it’s finally december and the anticipation is at an all time high!

happy bday to tina!  i rarely go clubbing in the states…most people give the excuse that it’s too expensive but that’s not my reason (as all of you should know, i’m a cheap drunk so a drink or 2 will get me to “where i need to be”).  call me dumb, but the main reason why i don’t like clubbing in the states is because i hate wearing black shoes and a button down shirt.  i think it’s so dumb how clubs try to maintain this “high class” status when a majority of guys in there are complete douche bags.  OK, anyway….so the point is that i basically only go clubbing for people’s birthdays :D

obligatory shot

w/ the bday girl and some guy named rick (oh ya, and i’m starting to wear contacts now)

hooray! thanksgiving.  not only do we get 4 days of work/stress free bliss, but we get to stuff ourselves silly with food that gives americans an excuse for being fat.  this year, was our first ever “friendsgiving.”  the guys “cooked” the turkey.  by “cooked,” i mean buying a pre-seasoned/stuffed turkey from fresh & easy and popping in the oven for 2 hours…done and done.  hats off to annie and tiff for making everything else!! it was so tasty…the stuffing, cranberry sauce, marshmellow topped sweet potatoes and the STRING BEAN CASSEROLE.

next day…more eating at my parents house.  my uncle and aunt (from alabama!) came to visit.  they also happen to be ben’s parents, haha.  my other aunt and uncle from san diego also came up.  i think it may have been the most family i’ve ever seen at once at my own house.  my mom cooked an amazing meal as always (stuffing w/ oysters wrapped with lettuce is always my favorite).  anyway, here are some pics…

w/ benita

oh the fam

december also means XMAS MIX!!!  time to break out the nsync, 98 degrees and all the rest of the emo holiday goodness!

10 more work days till taiwan! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!
